Every year, we look forward to relaxing and spending quality time with family and friends during the Easter long weekend. Many take the four-day break as an opportunity to travel, but there are plenty of things to do in Hong Kong too, should you decide to stay put. From an Easter egg hunt to seasonal baking workshops, here’s how to keep busy during Easter 2024 in Hong Kong.
Hot cross buns are an Easter must-have, so why not try your hand at baking some yourself? The Mixing Bowl is hosting an Easter baking class to teach you how to make hot cross buns and coconut macaroon Easter egg nests. A choice of filling is available, including chocolate chip, candied nuts, dried cherries, and more. Eager participants can even customise their creations! Alternatively, chocolate lovers can opt for the chocolate Easter eggs class.
If your little ones are chefs in the making, then the junior baker Easter camp might be their favourite way to stay busy during the holidays! Over a four-day period, the camp teaches the junior cooks how to make a selection of Easter specials, including chicken pot pies, Hasselback potatoes, lemon drizzle slices, and—of course—hot cross buns. Celebrate Easter in Hong Kong’s great outdoors with Relish’s new spring picnic basket! The latest menu features a selection of veggie-centred items, including grilled cabbage steaks with jalapeño lentil chimichurri and maple mustard tahini, artichoke, basil pesto, and brie tart, and a complimentary cheese and charcuterie board. If you’re on Kowloon side, you can head over to Pici Tseung Kwan O for a full basket of eggplant parmigiana with basil pesto and mozzarella, chicken salad with truffle mayo and Parmesan, dark chocolate muffins, and pistachio and ricotta cannoli. Let your children experience the magic of Easter egg hunting this year. Discovery Bay’s Easter Egg Hunt, held on Tai Pak Beach on 29 and 30 March, will have little ones scouting for colourful eggs along with a chance to win attractive prizes.
