The sun is shining, the weather is sweet—it’s the perfect time to hit the roof! One of the best things about living in Hong Kong is being able to sip on a cocktail (or three) at one of the city’s many amazing rooftop bars. So why not take wining and dining to new heights and head to one of these fabulous hangouts? Here’s a toast to you!

Cardinal Point

Cardinal Point’s Sky Terrace has a name that speaks for itself. Located on the forty-fifth floor at the top of Landmark in Central, you’ll be sipping cocktails in the sky! This rooftop bar is open daily, with DJ beats in the background to accompany a drink and a relaxing moment.

Cardinal Point’s drinks menu is all about travelling, taking inspiration and ingredients from the world over. Among the eight signature cocktails, the West Face Killa is a mix of vodka, passion fruit, pineapple, lime, and bitters, and the Pandan Highball brings together gin, mandarin, and pandan.

Terrible Baby

Since the Eaton Hong Kong went through its rebranding and followed a collective co-living concept geared towards nurturing creatives under Eaton Workshop, the hotel has become the playground of choice for hipsters and the artsy crowd all over the city, and its resident bar Terrible Baby is no exception. The interior section of Terrible Baby features a beautiful mid-century design, but we also love their spacious outdoor patio which overlooks the Jordan neighbourhood. Kick back and sip on their innovative sustainable cocktails amidst a painfully cool arts and music-driven scene—this is worlds away from chaotic Peel Street!

Popinjays

Nesting on the top of the Murray and overlooking the whole of Admiralty and Central, Popinjays is a contemporary lifestyle rooftop restaurant and bar that is a must-go for anyone who is on the hunt for beautiful aesthetics.

Their rooftop bar surrounds their entire restaurant, so you can move from city view to mountain view in just a couple of steps. Designed by acclaimed architect André Fu and his team, you can be sure that every corner of the hotel (including the rooftop) is an Instagrammable spot!

Ichu

Right outside of Ichu Peru is a secret garden known as Ichu Terraza that rocks Peruvian vibes. Inspired by the mountainous terrain of South America, the design of the furniture mimics the natural rock formation of Peru’s scenic landscapes, adding in modern touches like a DJ set at the far end of the bar. This inner-city oasis is surrounded by lush greenery, so you don’t even feel like your in the heart of the financial district. Try the signature Ichu pisco sour and bounce along to some Peruvian beats!

Wooloomooloo Steakhouse

Fancy a steak with your view? We cannot think of a better spot to tuck into some juicy beef than this dazzling thirty-first-floor restaurant and bar in the heart of Wan Chai. With jaw-dropping views, comfy lounge seating, and soft lighting, Wooloomooloo Steakhouse is an ideal spot to soak up city vibes, with a refreshing glass of wine and a delicious cut.

Don’t be put off by its location—despite being in bustling Wan Chai, this popular spot has a more relaxed atmosphere than other rooftop bars in the city and a pretty sweet view of Happy Valley Racecourse, too!

Scattered with cushioned couches fit for royalty and high tables defying gravity, this popular venue takes glamour to a whole new level.

Perfect for schmoozing clients, impressing visitors, or celebrating a very special occasion, this stylish hotspot boasts some of the finest signature cocktails Hong Kong has to offer, served alongside top-notch fusion cuisine. Life doesn’t get much better than this! Better squeeze a visit in quick for one last hurrah—Sevva has announced it will be closing in early 2024.

Eyebar

With stunning panoramic views of Hong Kong Island, Eyebar earns a well-deserved spot on our list of the best rooftop bars the city has to offer. Of course, the range of gorgeous cocktails available on the menu helps, too—who wouldn’t love sipping on a classic mojito on a huge thirtieth-floor terrace atop the iSquare shopping mall? If you’re more of a beer or martini drinker, though, head there for happy hour on weekdays and enjoy hefty discounts on your favourite tipples.

Sugar

If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of central Hong Kong, but still want a killer view, then slip away to the slinky rooftop bar at Sugar on the eastern end of Hong Kong Island. Located on the thirty-second floor of the East Hotel, this venue boasts an enormous outdoor terrace, comfy low sofas and armchairs, and some pretty chic cocktails to boot.

What could be sweeter than sipping on a Petal Fizz or a Devilwood Hive as you unwind to some electronic DJ beats and lap up the breathtaking views of North Point, Quarry Bay, and Tai Tam? Head there between 5.30 pm and 7 pm on weekdays to enjoy whisky or gin cocktails and wine during the Sundowner happy hour.

Skye

Perched on the twenty-seventh floor of the Park Lane, Skye boats an impressive 8,000-square-foot space that includes three private rooms, an outside deck complete with an illuminated bar, and sweeping views of the city. Set against a backdrop of Victoria Harbour and Victoria Park, this vibrant nightlife spot invites guests to sip on tantalising cocktails and soak up the ambience as the in-house DJ spins the decks.

The zodiac-themed cocktail menu is just as playful as the décor, serving up delights such as the Gemini (Grey Goose vodka, marshmallow, and passionfruit) and the Virgo (Diplomatico rum, beetroot, and salted plum). There’s also an impressive wine list.

Aqua

Aqua’s floor-to-ceiling windowed walls boast a direct view of Victoria Harbour. Even better, and hidden close to the Aqua spirit bar, a rooftop space welcomes you to enjoy tipples in the open air! The signature cocktails are worth a try, but we recommend visiting from 4 pm till 7 pm on a Saturday to enjoy Aqua’s weekly Ritual menu for a happy-hour tasting session.
