Wood-themed indoor amusement park The Wooderful Land is taking a summer trip to Hong Kong! If you are looking for a nature escape, but don’t necessarily find hiking or camping all too compelling in this heat, we have found the perfect alternative for you. MCP Central is bringing the Taiwanese park’s educational and engaging facilities to our city. From puzzle-solving to a wooden swing, read on to find out what you can expect as you step into this woody wonderland.
Visitors will be greeted by two adorable mascots at the entrance of the immersive experience zone—remember to snap a photo with Mr Bear and Little Racoon before you em-bark on your journey! A highlight of “Summer in the Wooderful Land” has got to be the six-metre-tall Giant Forest Treehouse. Not only will participants enjoy a selection of wooden puzzles waiting to be solved, but they will also learn about different aspects of woodworking and carpentry.
Make your way to the Tree Conservation Exhibition Zone, showcasing recycled logs collected by local carpenter group Chipgoodguy Studio. Displayed logs are labelled with their species, characteristics, and the ecosystems they used to be a part of, so visitors can better understand the multiple lives these logs have led before arriving at the exhibition. The aim of this family-friendly fun is to raise awareness of tree conservation and the upsides of living a greener lifestyle.
A series of wood art is also on display, complete with illustrations of the processes involved in crafting these delicate pieces. Visitors are also encouraged to interact with the sensory exhibit, where different tree species’ wood are on display for all to become more familiar with forests and the trees that grows in them through sight, smell, and touch.
Competitive adventurers can try their hand at the wooden ball catapulting game, where a wooden catapult crafted by Chipgoodguy Studio is stationed with more than enough ammunition to hone your skills at the game! Cool off along the Tree Conservation Healing Zone, where Little Boar and Little Pony will keep you company as you relax on a wooden swing.
A H-Coins member-only mini course is also available for families who would like to experience the pioneering edutainment of The Wooderful Land. This workshop begins with a guided tour of the Tree Conservation Exhibition Zone led by Chipgoodguy Studio, followed by a game on the wooden catapult where participants can learn how the mechanism was put together. Rounding off this experience is the upcycled wood key chain workshop. Craft bespoke pieces to take home, alongside a certificate that recognises your green efforts in taking part in this workshop.
