Japan’s popular digital art collective, TeamLab, is bringing its family-friendly interactive exhibit to Hong Kong! Starting from 9 July 2023 to 14 January 2024, parents and their little ones—as well as “kidults” of all ages and sizes!—can embark on a playful and immersive journey at “TeamLab Future Park” at MegaBox, Kowloon Bay.
Occupying over 10,000 square feet, TeamLab Future Park will include a selection of the digital art collective’s signature large-scale visual art and interactive installations.
“Sketch Town” allows you to unleash your creativity at a variety of drawing and colouring activities, and the resulting masterpieces will be uploaded into the system on-site and projected as part of the animals populating the exhibit space, as seen in “Graffiti Nature—Beating Mountains and Valleys, Red List.”
“Light Ball Orchestra” lets visitors into a ball pit filled with supersized inflatable balls in a vibrant variety of colours. “Sliding through the Fruit Field” reimagines the ordinary slide with interactive projections that reacts to anyone making their way down the slide, while “Hopscotch for Geniuses” features a projected shallow river that reacts to jumps and bounces. Finally, “A Table where Little People Live” mimics the popular “En Tea” ceremony in other TeamLab locations around the world and reimagines the concept of storytelling with projections that react to objects placed on a table.
