Since the announcement of Clockenflap’s long-awaited return to Central Harbourfront for its latest edition, the organisers of the festival have kept us waiting for the list of acts. And now it’s finally here! Without further ado, here’s the full line-up for Clockenflap 2023.
Split into three days over a long weekend from 3 to 5 March, the festival features the best local and regional artists and bands together with international acts.
Headlining the festival is British indie rock giant Arctic Monkeys. Playing in Hong Kong for the first time, fans can expect all the classics from previous albums and titles from their newest album, The Car, just released in October last year. We bet you’ll look good on the dancefloor!
Other international artists to look out for include the hip-hop legends from Wu-Tang Clan, Swedish indie pop band The Cardigans, Bombay Bicycle Club from the UK (who also headlined the festival 12 years ago), Norwegian folk duo Kings of Convenience, French synth-rock band Phoenix, the multi-instrumentalist FKJ, and many more.
You can expect to see a good number of local and regional talents at Clockenflap in March. Highlights from Hong Kong include rapper Tyson Yoshi, poetic pop duo Per Se, cult rock band N.Y.P.D., hip hop icon YoungQueenz, rock band Charming Way, indie pop group The Hertz, and others.
From the APAC region, we have Japanese rock masters Mono and dance-pop group Chai, Korean indie band Silica Gel and hip-hop collective Balming Tiger, Thai rock group Three Man Down, Taiwanese singer Yellow and R&B singer Julia Wu, and other exciting names eager to show off their tunes.
Apart from showcasing the best musical acts, Clockenflap is also famous for its arts programme, running at the same time as the festival. Visitors can take a break from dancing away at Central Harbourfront and admire the varied and attractive multimedia installations dotted around the venue. From Instagrammable photo spots and street art to short films playing live on-site, you can get a full experience of the blooming art scene from our region.
Families are also welcome to attend the festival. Attractions catered to little ones have always been available on-site, and 2023 is no different. While you’re head-banging to the music, your little ones can let their imagination run wild at puppet performances, sonic exploration experiences, and trying their hand at playing percussion instruments.
